Hi wolven:

The wolvix boot up get cleared several times at the end of the boot up process, including the wolvix login screen. Today, I want to test my new persistent storage module on wolvix, ref,

But the screen was just flashed by. I can’t make out anything from it. So I don’t know why it didn’t work for wolvix. Moreover, I noticed for the first time that some of my .lzm modules are “corrupted” -- maybe this is the only time that I stare closely at the boot up screen.

So please consider removing any of clear screens during boot up. I know it is not pretty, but default Unix/Linux behave that way. Otherwise, I can’t debug my module in wolvix.

Thanks

Moreover, I think only geeks boots into the text mode, so it should be not a problem. It might even be a welcome move for them.

System log?

Is there not a log, in which all the info is kept? I thought such a system log was a must in an OS like GNU/Linux.

About your comment 'bout the booting into text mode, I do boot with the verbose splash screen, but I usually prefer the visual login (SLiM/GDM). If you boot into X, and then change to TTY1, you'll find that the screen is not cleared, and that you can actually read the last of the entries showing up upon boot/login. Or, at least I believe so >.<;
