Re: Any new release

Hello aryr100

Yes there will be a new release, but when is a though question to answer. The truth is that I've not yet started working on the next release which I planned to base on Slackware 12.

Between the 1.1.0 release and my real job, I've been rather exhausted and burned out lately, but I've started to get back the urge to develop again. What I think I'll do now is release a 1.1.1 version still based on Slackware 11.0/Wolvix 1.1.0 before I start working on the next major release based on Slackware 12 (or newer) The 1.1.1 release will be a bug fix and minor upgrades release. How much of the 'old' code base I'll be upgrading I don't know yet.

I know a lot of people (me included) are anxious to see Wolvix using the new Slackware toolchain and the new modular Xorg, but as it is now I'm not up to a new 7 to 8 month development marathon. So the current plan is to update and refine the 1.1.0 release and then start working on the next major upgrade.

Any updates?

Your last comment was in September '07. Is there as of now any updates on the work or the plans, or have things been paused for a while? I'm just curious ^^

New Release

Will we be able to smoothly upgrade to the new version by just changing the repos and pointing to slackware 12.0 or 12.1 or slackware-current and the new wolvix repos or will we have to do fresh installations?

Another success story. Glory to God

Guess on way of upgrading

I guess you'll need to do a fresh install, but I hope and believe that we can keep our wolvixsave.xfs file.
