...for those with better things to do than wobble their windows
All the packages for Wolvix are accessible through the slapt-get package manager, which has support for dependency tracking. Note that the dependency handling in slapt-get is only as good as the person creating the 'slack-required file, which in this case is mostly done by the 'requiredbuilder'. This is not 100% optimal solution, but it works just fine for the most part. It's not recommended to use slapt-get to remove packages, it's safer to use the 'removepkg' command to do that.
Using slapt-get is of course optional, so if you're a purist and want to download and install the packages by hand, like on Slackware, you can find all the packages on the main Wolvix Package Repository.
There are plenty of mirrors for the official Slackware packages. One of the mirrors is the OSUOSL Slackware mirror.
You can also make use of packages from various unofficial package repositories, like: LinuxPackages and Slacky, but be aware that the third party packages are unsupported and can break your system, so use caution!
Here's a nice list of all the package locations, so they're easier to find.
If you're into compiling from source and building your own packages, there are a few websites worth checking out. SlackBuilds.org which features a good selection of package build scripts. And DarkVision's website, home of the SlackBot, which was used to build many of the packages found in Wolvix 1.1.0.
The sources and build scripts for the packages which are used in Wolvix are of course available to you, should you have need of them. While it's greatly appreciated if you download the source tarballs from the mirror(s) of the package(s) in question to help us save bandwidth, they are all available on the main Wolvix mirror.
Sources for the Slackware packages used in Wolvix can be found on one the many Slackware mirrors. They are not mirrored on the Wolvix FTP server to conserve bandwidth and hard drive space on our servers.
A set of package build scripts, called the 'WolvixBuildSystem', has been developed to aid in the creation of the packages used in Wolvix. While these scripts where initially based upon the SlackBuild scripts developed by Patrick Volkerding, they've been expanded to house more features, or "bloat" depending on how you see it, in order to cover a large range of build scenarios within the same script template, by using a lot more variables than traditional SlackBuilds.
For further details and instructions on how to use the 'WolvixBuildSystem' refer to the README.WolvixBuild.
If you'd like show your support by linking back to Wolvix with a button on your website, you can use one of the images provided here. Please don't hot-link to the images, download and save them to your own server. Thanks!
The are also SVG versions of the logo available if you want to make your own custom buttons, banners, CD lables, wallpapers, etc.
